The last race of the Southern League cross country took place in the Polecat Valley at Haslemere School. A lovely setting even though it was a bit windy.
Even with Spring marathon training in full force, it was a great turnout from Waverley Harriers. The course skirts around the top of the Devils Punchbowl and gradually descends to the bottom. Unfortunately no time to enjoy the downhill as the only way to the finish is uphill. A great course and a definite option for a future Sunday run.
A great spread of sandwiches, cakes and tea was laid out by Haslemere Borders AC. Our men came 3rd, women 7th and overall in the race joint 3rd.
