After fabulously successful events in 2016, 2017 & 2018 – the Hart 4 is back in 2019, for its 4th year! We have increased the entry field slightly to 200 teams so this will be our biggest (and best) event yet…
For those lucky runners that competed in previous years, the format and location remains the same.
The Hart 4 is a 4 hour relay event for teams of 4 on a 4km off road course at Minley Manor, Hampshire. The event starts at 10:30 on Sunday the 11th August and finishes four hours later at 14:30. During this time, teams will try to complete as many laps of the course as they can! There will be three team categories; male, female and mixed with prizes awarded to the first, second and third teams in each category. Laps started before 14:30 can be completed and will count towards the team total, so plan your laps to try to squeeze that last one in!
The 4km lap is an undulating, off road course through both the woods and grasslands of Minley Manor. It has a few hills but also plenty of flat sections, meaning it should be possible for those competing to get round quickly! Minley Manor is owned by the MoD and we are using it with their permission. As a result, no BBQs or open fires are permitted.
We have plenty of room on site for free car parking, the race village and areas for running clubs or friends and families to put up gazebos or tents, so if you have one, why not bring it with you. We will have a PA system playing music and providing updates throughout the day, so why not kick back in the shade of your gazebo, listen to some music and get ready for your next lap!
In 2016 & 2017 the the weather was glorious sunshine during the whole event. In 2018 we had perfect running conditions (!), and we hope for similar this year so bring your families, children and friends and even a picnic and enjoy a day out in the Hampshire countryside. There will be entertainment for children including face painting, balloon modelling and competitions. We have catering on site if you would rather not bring your own food. We’ll also have an ice-cream van on site if you need to cool down!
We have increased the available places to 200 teams this year, but we expect to sell out well before our cut-off date of Friday 26th July 2019. So to enjoy the same great location, festival atmosphere and enjoyable competitive running event, ensure you secure your team place early.
