During the summer, Waverley Harriers juniors have been partnering with Haslemere Border Athletic Club to send a team into the Wessex League Athletics League Track and Field competition. Competition comes from a strong set of clubs from the southeast of England, and the team completed the four rounds at Basingstoke, Winchester, Woking and Aldershot. Many of our athletes have improved their scores through the summer and there have been some very notable performances. The results are available at: http://www.wessexleaguetandf.co.uk/results.htm, and our team is labelled as ‘Haslemere’. Perhaps some of the strongest performances have come in the under-11 quad-kids competition where each athlete undertakes a 75m, 600m, long-jump and howler throw. At the Woking event, the boys quad-kids team won, with Ben & Tom Blamey, Eliot Thompson and Henry Downes from Waverley all contributing in recent weeks.
