To support of all those running the London Marathon this year there will be a pasta party after the 7pm run on Wed 17th April. The Sarah Newth Award will be presented to the star performing man and lady of the 2012/3 cross country season. Remember to bring something along for the raffle – all […]
Thanks to Steve for planning a great run from Witley Common over to Frensham Great Pond this weekend. Fortunately the expected sleet held off and it was a brisk but beautiful morning. Steve and Mike, being in the final stages of marathon preparation, were in fine form – even managing to sustain a lengthy conversation […]
I would like to thank everybody who represented Waverley Harriers in the Today’s Runner League for 2012/3! We seem to have achieved 6th place out of 20 clubs in our first season! This is a fantastic achievement for a relatively small club. We had a full mens and ladies team at each of the 6 […]
There were five Waverley Harriers members who rebelled from either the normal Sunday morning club meeting or the cross-country run to take part in the Surrey Spitfire 20 mile race. For those of us with a spring marathon entry, the timing of the event, distance run and proximity to Godalming makes it an obvious choice. […]
A message of thanks from Penny following her 70th birthday celebration on 20th Feb following the Wednesday club run: Many thanks for such a lovely party, I could not believe it. That was a well kept secret, to see so many of you and all the food and cakes, it was quite overwhelming. Then the […]
How was it? Were all you marathon trainers out at the Surrey Spitfire or Tempest over at Dunsfold? 17 club members were over at the last Cross Country fixture of the year at Staunton Country park. Race report to follow soon.
Any items to add to the agenda?
This year’s race will be held on 19th May 2013 and includes 10k, 4k and 1k fun run distances on closed roads in Godalming and Charterhouse. It follows on from the success of last year’s Jubilee event organised by Waverley Harriers. For more information and online entries see here.
Waverley Harriers survive the mud (again!) with both teams performing well at the Manor Park Farm cross country 5 miler. Well done to the 16 Harrriers who braved the mud bath, the ladies team were 5th and the men were 13th (out of 20 Clubs). Waverley Harriers came 10th overall.
Well done to everyone who turned out for the Cross Country on 30th December 2012. Apparently the route was a mud-fest, but the cakes were amazing. With all this snow around, does anyone remember what mud looks like?
