When did running begin for you?
About 18 years ago when my sisters and I decided to do a 5k race for life. After that I got the bug and did a few 10ks then a few halves and then a full marathon!
Why do you run?
For the exercise and so I can eat more cheese! But I also love the feeling of accomplishment I get afterwards and exploring new places
What race or moment in your running career holds the most significance and why?
Definitely the London Marathon in 2012 because it was my first (and maybe last) full marathon and I never thought I’d ever do something like it beforehand
Who is your running inspiration?
No one in particular but I am in awe of people who run with disabilities and those who run marathons for charities dressed as Rhinos or carrying washing machines on their backs, they are mad but also amazing, I could never do that!
What event, past or present, would you like to take part in and why?
The first ever London Marathon to see how it has changed and grown over the years
What golden piece of advice would you give to other runners?
For people just starting out, start small and gradually build it up and don’t worry about the speed, I am never gonna be a fast runner, you run your own race
What’s next?
I need to enter another half marathon and I would love to get a sub 2hr time but I need to train more first (after what I just said, I think I will probably just aim to get round in a good time for me).
Who would you like to nominate?
Kat Hobbs
