Pasta Night – 17 April 2013

Around 30 Harriers attended the annual pasta night on April 17th. As well as providing the chance to socialize over a meal and glass of wine, and to talk through last-minute worries or tips for the marathon, the evening raised over £600, a fantastic amount. This was split between the charities supported by the London marathon club runners.

The evening saw the annual presentation of the Sarah Newth award. This is awarded to a man and lady who have shown great endeavour during the cross-country season. This year’s winners were Theresa Male and JP Pritchard.

We were grateful to Philippa Locke from Guildford Sports Therapy who came along to give those aching muscles a free taster massage, with donations going towards the charity pot. She also generously donated a gift voucher for a sports massage to each of the winners of the Sarah Newth award.

Nobody went home empty-handed, with the usual raffle offering plenty of wine and chocolates, as well as some more unusual gifts! Top prize for the night was a £50 voucher kindly donated by FitStuff, which I was thrilled to win.

Thanks to Penny, Bridget & the Team for all the food, Julian for the drinks, and FitStuff and Guildford Sports Therapy for all the great prizes.
