It was a good morning’s work for Waverley Harriers at the Shere 40k on 14th September. A very scenic route covering the North Downs, Holmbury Hill, Leith Hill, Pitch Hill, St Marthas and Newlands Corner – in all over 1,000m of ascent! More than Snowdon – not bad for Surrey.
We picked up several of the prizes – Rebecca Atkins 1st Ladies Vet (and 2nd overall), Sarah Frost 2nd Ladies vet, Liz Hoare 3rd Ladies vet, Andrew Lockett 1st Mens vet and the Sharp family coming in as first team. Congratulations to all – and those who took part in the Farnham Pilgrims marathon the following day.
I’d definitely recommend both of these local events.
