Everyone at Waverley Harriers would like to congratulate Sarah Frost on her recent award by Sport Godalming. Sarah was nominated as a finalist and finished 3rd in the Roffe Swayne award which is given out in recognition for promoting sport in the community.

Sarah Frost was nominated for the award due to her unwavering commitment and dedication to athletics and running through her coaching, leadership and marshalling within the Godalming running community and in particular, Waverley Harriers, over many years. Sarah coaches track sessions for Waverley Harriers at Charterhouse every Tuesday evening throughout the year where her passion shines through come rain or shine as her coaching focuses adults runners of all ages and abilities to improve their running form, speed and endurance. She inspires and supports runners and athletes to attain achievements that they wouldn’t have thought possible. She makes great efforts to get to know the runners personally and supports members who are taking part on any running event challenges. In addition to her coaching, Sarah is also the Waverley Harriers Cross Country captain and over the years her style of captaincy has significantly contributed to a healthy increase in participation by club members and the club has achieved high ranking results for the size of the club.

Sarah simply loves running, she leads from the front and has a genuine and heartfelt passion to encourage athletics, running and sport in the community, she strives to keep her skills up to date and has recently completed running technique and dynamic movement skills coaching courses, which of course leads to better quality coaching for anyone who is lucky enough to attend one of her sessions.

In summary, Sarah is treasured by Waverley Harriers and the running community of Godalming and she is one of those extremely rare, special individuals who takes pleasure in unconditionally giving her energy in supporting the wellbeing of other people with great passion.

It is great recognition and well deserved by Sarah who dedicates so much of her time to Waverley Harriers. The commitment she shows is amazing, and so many of us would be lost without those Tuesday night track sessions where she puts us all through our paces and helps improve us as runners.

The awards ceremony was held on Friday 21st November at Charterhouse where the club picked up the award on her behalf. Sarah couldn’t attend so it was left to Chairman Steve Rogers to present the trophy to Sarah at the Clubs AGM on 3rd December, as the picture below shows.

Congratulations Sarah and thankyou for all you do for our club
